Happy Halloween – Spooky Decor

I am a huge fan of Halloween, and decorating for the spooky season makes me so happy, so I thought since Halloween is this weekend I’d share some photos of the spooky touches I added to our last home over the years, as well as my favourite stores that I love to shop at!

Halloween to me is such a fun time of the year where I can watch scary movies, decorate my home, eat yummy treats and dress up! If you celebrate Halloween as well, I hope you have a spooky, safe and silly time with your family & friends!

Over the years I’ve noticed stores in Australia start to stock more and more Halloween decorations each year, which makes me very happy! Generally a lot of the items are super affordable, so you can have fun decorating your home without having to worry too much about the cost. Below I’ve listed the stores that I’ve bought my Halloween decor from over the years (in order of my favourites), in case you were on the hunt for some too:

  • Big W
  • Spotlight
  • Kmart
  • eBay
  • Target
  • Wish
  • Aliexpress
  • Local $2 stores

If you wanted to get creative or don’t have the budget, you can add things like twigs & sticks (which have a witchy feel), and also DIY! I’ve DIY’d a variety of creepy candles, witches spell books, and even simple things like adding fake cobwebs and a spider to a bunch of flowers, like you can see in the below photo of my kithen.

That’s probably another reason why I love Halloween- any excuse for me to have fun decorating and find new DIY projects to try out!

As you can see from all of these photos, I’m sure you can tell I LOVE adding spooky touches around the house, but the main feature for Halloween in our last home was the fireplace and mantle. Sometimes I went simple (well simple for me, haha), and then other years I went all out! I’ve added all of the photo’s of each year (I think the bottom 2 are from the same year), and I would love to know which one you like the most!

Hopefully this gave you some inspiration on how you can add spooky touches to your home too, and where to find the decorations. Although this year Halloween has been quite low key for me as we are in between homes, we’ve still got a spooky weekend planned, and I am SO excited to decorate our new home next year! ♡
